In December, ICSG made a submission to the consultation on the review of the Equality Acts (Equal Status Acts 2000-2018 and the Employment Equality Acts 1998-2015), launched by the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Mr. Roderic O’Gorman.
Led by Patricia Conboy, the ICSG submission made recommendations regarding: combatting ageism and age discrimination; building awareness of equality and rights among older people; addressing the impact of exemptions on older people; removing systemic barriers to equality; supporting equality with information, data and statistics.
